This free-standing new-build home includes the house and a practical component by one of the associates at Plan A.
The home is built to the passive standard. The large glass section in the front facade (south side) ensures that the sunlight can reach deeply into the house via an open space.
The stream of light is emphasised by the graphite-coloured stripe that cuts into the base volume.
The massive base (aerated concrete and concrete slabs) is filled with a timber skeleton structure, which is filled with recycled paper flakes.
